RBH has announced the appointment of Ms Albertinah Kekana as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 November 2012.
Johannesburg, South Africa. 20 September 2012. Royal Bafokeng Holdings Limited (RBH) has announced the appointment of Ms Albertinah Kekana as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 1 November 2012.
Ms Kekana succeeds Mr Niall Carroll, who served as RBH CEO from June 2006 to March 2012. Mr Lucas Ndala, responsible for group finance and risk at RBH, has been acting as Interim CEO since Mr Carroll’s departure.
Ms Kekana has extensive investment banking, corporate finance and business leadership experience, and has operated at management level for 15 years, the past nine of which have been at an executive level within the Public Investment Corporation (PIC).
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting, and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994. The Chairman of RBH, Ms Monhla Hlahla, on behalf of the Company’s Board of Directors, said: “We are delighted to have Ms Kekana join the RBH executive team. “Her excellent mix of qualifications and experience positions her very well to lead RBH’s continuing journey as the investment vehicle for the Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN), delivering the financial returns necessary to meet the Nation’s social development objectives.” Commenting on the Shareholder’s views of this strategic appointment, Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi said that RBH remains a critical investment vehicle for the Bafokeng Nation.
“We are therefore proud that the Board was able to secure a person of Ms Kekana’s calibre and market stature. The Bafokeng Nation congratulates Ms Kekana on her appointment to lead RBH.”
The Board expressed its appreciation of Mr Ndala’s characteristic calm and sage leadership in the past few months.
