RBH appoints new non-executive directors to the Board

The Board of Royal Bafokeng Holdings (Pty) Limited (RBH) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Ms Monhla Hlahla and Mr Tom Boardman.

The Board of Royal Bafokeng Holdings (Pty) Limited (RBH) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Ms Monhla Hlahla and Mr Tom Boardman.

Ms Hlahla holds a BA (Honours) (Economics) degree from Pomona College and an MA (Urban and Regional Planning) from the UCLA School of Architecture and Planning, both in the United States of America. She was appointed Managing Director for Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) in 2001, a position she holds to date. At present, Ms Hlahla is the Interim Chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), and a non-executive director of ABSA Bank. She also serves on the Airports Council International (ACI) World Governing Board and is the President for the African chapter of ACI.

Mr Boardman graduated with a BComm degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and thereafter qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He started his career at Anglo American Corporation, where he was later appointed Financial Manager of Anglo American Properties. He also held senior positions at Sam Newman Limited and was involved in the development of Boardmans into multiple branches and the subsequent buyout thereof by Pick ’n Pay. Mr Boardman joined the Board of Executors (BOE) in 1986 and served in various capacities until the merger of BOE with Nedbank in 2002. Following the merger, he was appointed Chief Executive for Nedbank Retail & Wealth Management and became Chief Executive for the Nedbank Group in 2003, a position he held until his retirement in 2010. Though retired, Mr Boardman currently serves on the boards of Woolworths Holdings, the Vodacom Group and Nedbank, amongst others.
